Hi, I’m Rachel and I’m the owner and photographer of Rachel Barron Photography, based in the beautiful seaside town of Whitby near Scarborough. Thanks for visiting my website! You might also know me as the ‘baby photographer’ or the ‘baby whisperer’. I’m looking forward to welcoming you to my website and hopefully my beautiful photography studio.

I specialise in newborn, baby and cake smash photography, creating images that are timeless and strive to capture the beauty and innocence of childhood. My sessions are relaxed and fun as this helps to deliver genuine emotions in your images.

Growing up

My interest in photography started during my teens. I was fascinated using the dark room and developing images I’d taken. This has never left me. I love having the ability to freeze a moment in time that we will never get back.

 Since leaving University, I’ve had a number of careers including a branch manager, family outreach worker and a creche manager to name just a few.

When my second son Max was just a few months old, I decided to pursue my dream and open my own my photography business.  I’d spend hours photographing him and and trying to capture and preserve those tiny special details that only newborns have. Quickly I realised that this was where my passion in photography was. I adored newborn photography!

In a competivie market, i aim to stand out and keep ahead of new trends and saftey protacols. As such, I have been trained by some of the world’s best newborn and baby photographers and I am now the proud owner of many photography awards from competitions from around the world.
